History

YOUCAN Youth Services in Edmonton is one of two YOUCAN offices in Canada. YOUCAN as an organization was founded in Ottawa in 1997 and throughout the years has been instrumental in bringing the concepts of conflict management and youth violence prevention to many areas of Canada. YOUCAN Edmonton has evolved into a grass roots community organization that focuses on the Edmonton Area. 

YOUCAN Youth Services was established as a full time office in 2002, run by one dedicated staff person and many youth volunteers. It has grown over the years and started various programs and projects that have made an enormous impact within the community. YOUCAN Youth Services has exposed thousands of youth across the Edmonton area to the benefits of conflict management and youth violence prevention and has seen many great successes.

YOUCAN Youth Services continues to connect with youth and the community in unique ways, which are fundamentally based on positive relationship building. As Edmontonians we all have a common goal of wanting to see our youth grow into contributing citizens, as well as see our city thrive and grow in positive ways. We take pride in the work that we do and look forward to meeting new youth and new partners.
