Job-ready candidates who are prepared to work

Our participants are ready to show up, learn, and contribute. Through a thoughtful selection and training process, we ensure youth enter the workplace with confidence, professionalism, and a strong desire to succeed.

Pre-trained for the workplace

Before entering a placement, participants complete comprehensive pre-employment training designed to build both personal and professional skills, including:

• Time management and accountability
• Effective communication and teamwork
• Conflict resolution
• Public speaking and confidence building
• Workplace conduct and professionalism

For Road to Work placements, participants may also earn industry-recognized certifications such as:

• CSTS
• Fall Protection
• Confined Space Entry & Monitor
• Mobile Elevating Work Platforms

Ongoing Support for You and Your Team

Our work doesn’t stop once a placement begins. YOUCAN’s Transitional Outreach Workers provide ongoing mentorship and support to both participants and employers, helping ensure a positive, productive experience for everyone involved.

Reduce your hiring costs

We recognize that hiring comes with costs. To support your involvement, we offer a 50% wage subsidy during the 12-week placement period:

• Funded by the Province of Alberta for Road to Work.
• Funded by Service Canada for VERTO Project.

Flexible Staffing Options
There is no obligation to hire participants beyond their placement. While many of our partners choose to extend employment offers, the decision always remains with you. Our team is here to support you every step of the way.
