About Gabby Keiran

Gabby is here to help tell YOUCAN’s story.

Originally from Calgary, Gabby relocated to Edmonton after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta. As an artist, she has always recognized Edmonton not only as a vibrant hub of creativity in Alberta but also as a city with a unique ability to foster and support strong communities. She deeply values the collective empathy that sets Edmonton apart from other cities and is committed to nurturing this spirit in both her personal and professional life.

Driven by a strong sense of justice and a proactive mindset, Gabby has dedicated herself to advocating for disadvantaged communities at both local and provincial levels. Her empathy and curiosity about people’s experiences fuel her work at YOUCAN, where she finds her greatest fulfillment in uplifting youth and giving their voices the platform they deserve. To Gabby, YOUCAN is more than an organization—it is a movement, a collective story of perseverance, written by the courageous youth who dare to dream and the dedicated team who empower them to turn those dreams into reality. She feels deeply honored to have the opportunity to share this story with both the local community and the broader public.

In her personal life, Gabby is pursuing a Masters in Communications and Technology at the U of A with a focus in New Media Ethics, exploring sociological impacts of digital environments. She enjoys tending to her plants, discovering local cafes, and spends much of her time attending local craft fairs, art galleries, and celebrating the successes of her friends and neighbours as they contribute to Edmonton’s creative legacy.
