About Kristi Welz

Kristi is a Certified Child and Youth Care Counselor and is registered with The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta. She has been an active member in social services for over 20 years. Kristi has a passion for advocating, supporting, and teaching through an inclusive and non-judgemental lens. She is an Indigenous and LGBTQIA2S+ ally. Over her career she has resided with non-profit organizations and most recently completed a research project with NorQuest College for Indigenous learners to find safe entry back into education and find employment in the technology industry. Kristi is a proud mama of two little boys, August and Harrison, and wife to Tristan. She loves to sing and dance; and if you listen closely you may hear her humming a tune or two.
