About Alexyn Nycholat

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Alexyn began her career in disabilities services. She held various titles in this field, such as live-in caregiver and job coach. Later, she returned to school to get a Bachelor in Secondary Education. She spent a few years working as a high school English and Social Studies teacher. As a teacher, she cultivated skills that aid her now in youth work, including risk assessment, behavior modification, and trauma-informed practice. Above all else, she learned the importance of developing positive and productive relationships with youth.
Alexyn is now a Transitional Outreach Worker at YOUCAN Youth Services. She helps the youth overcome obstacles, so they can reach their goals and maintain employment. She believes that anyone can be successful in life, if they are provided with adequate support, care, and understanding.
