Melanie Hibbard is the Executive Director of DRIFCan, Diabetes Research Institute Foundation Canada. The Edmonton non-profit organization is dedicated to advancing TD1 research at the University of Alberta in hopes of finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. After her two young sons were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, Melanie became iinvolved with volunteering in the diabetes community. Melanie's involvement with diabetes organizations has ranged from a board member, chair of outreach to mentorship of newly diagnosed families and community walks.
